Accurate quota setup ensures reliable research by enabling targeted, balanced data collection with real-time control. To set a simple quota, use the Quota Management icon, create a quota, name it, define conditions using survey questions or demographics, set a response limit, and choose actions when the quota is met. Enable notifications and save. Best practices include clear titles, starting simple, combining quotas, and reviewing before launch.
Set Up a Simple Quota
- From inside your survey, click the Quota Management icon.
- If no quotas are defined, click the +Create Quota button.
- Choose the Simple Quota option as the starting point.
- Give your quota a clear, descriptive name to make it easier to manage later by clicking the pencil icon next to Untitled Quota.
- The quota count increases each time the logic condition is met and the survey is completed. Enter the maximum number of allowed responses based on one criterion you set.
- Use the condition builder to target participants. You can combine multiple rules using AND/OR logic for greater precision. Select criteria based on:
- Survey questions
- External variables
- Profile points
- Recruitment status
- Age or gender
- Group membership
- Once this limit is reached, the system will take the action you define. Choose one of the following responses to meet your quota.
- Stop collection and show a message
Example:Sorry, the maximum number of responses has been met. Thanks for your time! - Continue collecting responses
Allows responses beyond the quota for monitoring or soft limits.
- Stop collection and show a message
- Enable quota notifications—Check the box to send a notification email when the quota limit is reached.
- Click Save to apply the quota to your survey.
Best Practices
- Use clear, consistent titles—especially in multi-quota studies
- Start simple; refine conditions as needed
- Combine with other quotas for advanced sampling control
- Review and update quotas before launching live studies
